On November 23 – Walt Disney Pictures is set to release its newest movie, entitled “The Muppets”. The said movie is set to be shown in numerous theatres in all over the world.
This revival of interest for the Muppets can actually be credited to social media – which played a vital role in the renewed love of the public for these cuddly, colourful characters.
For the past 2 years, Muppet Studios had been engaging in numerous marketing strategies which involved embarking on numerous social and viral campaigns – all for the purpose of reinventing the said characters and for reintroducing the Muppets brand to the new generation.
The start of the campaign started with the characters’ rendition of the epic classic Bohemian Rhapsody, which was later on followed by other songs. This rendition was later on followed by other songs – all of which have been getting so many raves from people all around the world.
To many, the campaigns to reinvent and revive the Muppets franchise was very well-timed and well thought of – the result of which is a testament of how social media can be a very great tool not only to market products and services – but even for reviving old classics as well.
